Cryotherapy is a non-invasive method of exposing the body to freezing temperatures to promote recovery, reduce inflammation, and enhance overall wellness. Using a specialized chamber, such as the XR cryotherapy chamber, nitrogen vapor rapidly cools the skin’s surface to a temperature as low as -220°F. This process triggers various beneficial responses in the body, including increased blood circulation and the release of endorphins. Commonly used to treat areas like the back, legs, arms, and joints, cryotherapy is popular among those suffering from muscle soreness, joint pain, and inflammation.
At Thrive Aesthetics and Wellness in Watkinsville, GA, you can experience the benefits of whole-body cryotherapy as part of your wellness routine. Cryotherapy is ideal for individuals looking to boost athletic performance, reduce recovery time after workouts, manage chronic pain, or improve skin health. Results vary by individual, but many people feel rejuvenated and notice improvements after just one session. Long-term benefits are typically achieved after several treatments, with results lasting several weeks. Since cryotherapy sessions are quick and convenient, they can easily fit into any busy schedule. Anyone looking to improve their recovery time, manage chronic pain, or enhance overall wellness may benefit from cryotherapy. However, those with certain medical conditions should consult their doctor before treatment.
Many clients report feeling the effects immediately after a session, such as increased energy and reduced soreness, with optimal results typically achieved after multiple treatments.
The results can last several weeks, based on the individual’s health and the number of sessions. Maintaining the benefits over time can be achieved through regular treatments.
Cryotherapy is generally safe, and most individuals experience no downtime. Temporary redness or mild skin irritation is possible but usually resolves quickly.
Avoid moisturizing or applying lotions to the skin before treatment. After the session, stay hydrated and engage in light movement to stimulate circulation.
During the session, you will stand in the cryotherapy chamber for 2-3 minutes as the cold vapor surrounds your body. The temperature will drop rapidly, but the treatment is brief and tolerable for most people.
