Medical Weight Loss Program

In general, medical weight loss programs are for people who struggle to lose weight despite their best efforts. A medical practitioner who specializes in weight reduction will oversee a program called a medical weight loss program.

The method also aids those who require medical treatment and struggle to control their food and urges. Medical weight loss programs are primarily intended for people who are obese or who have a BMI (Body Mass Index) greater than 30.

Because obesity is one of the country’s leading causes of heart disease, and research has shown that it is treatable with the proper medical care.

Your Journey to Losing Weight

Your medical weight loss journey will begin with thoroughly examining your medical background, individual healthcare objectives, and present way of life.

Again, we will talk about the best solutions to help them on their weight loss journey together. With our team, we will create a care plan that includes calorie and exercise targets and a strategy for maintaining motivation.

For patients with no contraindications, we provide a range of appetite suppressants, from daily oral medication to weekly injectables.

Also, compared to other weight-loss plans, they are all cookie-cutter plans that instruct you on what and how much to eat without getting to know you, your background, your schedule at work, or your eating habits.

But this program is unique because you’re seeing a doctor specializing in it. This is significant because they can properly assess you, look for any other underlying medical issues you might have, and create a personalized program for you based on your blood levels, family history, or past experiences.

Doctors will mainly include an eating diet plan in that personalized program, outlining how much you can eat and how many calories you must expend to lose weight.

To help you see the results you’ve always desired, they will also create an exercise routine that fits into your busy work schedule and, if necessary, prescribe supplements, vitamins, or prescriptions.

Is a Medical Weight Loss Program Worth It?

A medical weight loss program can help anyone whose body mass index (BMI) is 30 or higher. The BMI calculates your body fat percentage about your height and weight. Use our BMI calculator to determine if a medical weight loss program is appropriate for you.

Suppose you have other weight-related illnesses like high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, or sleep apnea. In that case, you might also be a candidate for this treatment. Please find out more about these and the other conditions associated with obesity that we treat.

What To Expect When Losing Weight?

Mostly, providers will begin by thoroughly evaluating your general health. We’ll inquire about the following during your evaluation:

  • The drugs you take
  • How your surroundings at home and work are
  • Personal reasons why you might overeat
  • Recent blood tests Medical conditions that could be causing your weight increase
  • Your attitudes around food and eating
  • Sleep habits
  • Your level of tension

This section briefly touches on a few facets of a thorough review procedure. You will see a dietician and an advanced practice provider at your first consultation.

You won’t need to make several appointments at various clinics because all our specialists work in the same facility. Weight loss can be challenging. So every doctor wants to make things as simple as possible for you.

How Much Weight Loss To Anticipate?

This is a custom-tailored program. The typical weight loss varies from person to person. You can discuss this matter with the nurse practitioner during your first appointment.

Do You Need Medicines?

Mostly, No. All prescription drugs and dietary supplements will be optional and subject to evaluation by a nurse practitioner before being recommended.

Are Other Medications Safe in This Program?

Although the drugs alone are generally considered safe, we advise you to speak with your doctor before starting any weight loss program.

What Meals Can You Eat?

Usually, the medical weight loss program approach focuses on eating a well-balanced diet that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, healthy fats, and nutritious carbohydrates that you buy at your local grocery store.
