Dermal Filler Injections

At some point or another, everyone discovers wrinkles on their face. They can also be an unwanted reminder of aging, with drooping skin and gray hair. But suppose wrinkles are bothering you, or you’re having trouble concealing them with over-the-counter medications. In that case, you don’t have to accept them.

Many cosmetic procedures, including dermal fillers, promise to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles without requiring regular maintenance. But do dermal fillers assist in wrinkle removal? What components do dermal fillers genuinely consist of?

Keep reading to find out.

Why do we develop wrinkles?

Collagen, hyaluronic acid, and elastin are essential substances that keep skin tight and smooth. Under the skin’s surface, a thick, spongy meshwork is formed by interacting with these substances. The skin surface is supported firm and soft by its elastic structure.

This meshwork gradually declines over time. The skin’s surface loses its flawless baby-skin smoothness as the underlying support system weakens.

Smoking and excessive sun and UVA exposure are two other variables linked to the development of wrinkles. Both cause your skin’s undersurface to be uneven and harm collagen.

Because they affect skin texture, genetics also have an impact. Y our skin’s surface and tone do affect how wrinkles appear. Darker skin seems more resistant to aging, but lighter, thinner skin appears significantly more vulnerable to the sun, smoking, and wrinkles.

And here is where dermal fillers come into place. The thinning meshwork is filled with dermal fillers. The fillers inflate the tissue beneath the skin, reducing wrinkles. The skin gets smoother, firmer, and appears younger.

What are dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are gel-like materials that are injected beneath the skin. Dermal fillers are used to give the skin a smoother and fuller appearance. Dermal fillers restore volume to your face, smooth out wrinkles, and plump up lines. These treatments are injected directly under your skin by your healthcare professional.

Dermal fillers are under FDA regulation as medical products. According to clinical investigations, most FDA-approved dermal fillers have temporary effects because they are comprised of substances that the body eventually digests and absorbs.

Dermal fillers are chosen by individuals to highlight their facial features or to seem younger. There is little recovery time after this elective procedure, typically around 30 minutes. Depending on the type of filler used and the area, results can immediately be apparent and endure for months or even years.

Why are people using dermal fillers?

Your body begins to lose collagen as you get older. All across your body, including in your skin, muscles, bones, and connective tissues, collagen is essential. Decreased collagen levels in the skin bring on skin laxity and volume loss. Skin ages, become less elastic, and begins to droop.

Dermal fillers may be chosen to:

  • Give sagging skin volume.
  • Ensure more excellent symmetry in the characteristics of your face.
  • Plump the cheeks and lips.
  • Smoothen your face’s lines and wrinkles

Do dermal fillers help in removing wrinkles?

Dermal fillers are intended to plump up the skin and restore volume to specific regions of the face. Deep-set lines can be targeted for injections to treat, leaving you appearing refreshed.

Why is this required? Because as we age, our bodies create less elastin and collagen. Skin elasticity declines, and wrinkles and sagging appear more prominently. It is why your face changes year after year as you approach middle age. Your jawline, chin, and cheekbones may lose definition over time.

However, wrinkles can be temporarily reduced by injecting dermal fillers into the skin around the eyes, the chin, the lips, or the area around the cheekbones.

What are the dermal fillers that can help with wrinkles?

Injectable dermal fillers have opened up new possibilities in cosmetic surgery by allowing non-surgical, natural-looking face rejuvenation and wrinkle elimination. Injections of dermal fillers increase facial tissue volume, reduce wrinkles, and improve the overall shape of the skin.

To assist you with achieving your cosmetic objectives, Thrive Aesthetics and Wellness uses fillers from the Restylane® and Juvederm® brands.

Restylane®

The Restylane dermal filler is a transparent HA-based gel that smoothes out face creases and lines while hydrating the skin to make it look more vibrant and youthful. One of the several Restylane soft tissue fillers can treat almost any face region. This dermal filler can minimize the appearance of deep folds, creases, and mild wrinkles.

Laugh and fine lines around the lips are two of the most often treated locations. Additionally, the face contours can be improved, commonly done with Restylane formulations with bigger particle sizes. This ground-breaking HA compound can treat sagging skin around the eyes, underdeveloped cheekbones, and receding chins.

Restylane is also used for lip augmentation, which improves the shape and volume of the lips for months after the procedure.

Juvederm®

In Juvederm, hyaluronic acid is present (HA). This pure, complex sugar improves the skin’s suppleness and volume. It exists in all living things by nature. HA helps the skin transport and retain nutrients and moisture, and this substance usually declines in the skin with age.

Juvederm’s HA is created utilizing a state-of-the-art manufacturing technique. It is a flexible, smooth gel to ensure the most realistic results.

The wrinkles and lines around the nose, lips, and forehead can all be treated with Juvederm. The treatment can lessen the look of scars, such as acne scarring, and shape the face. Juvederm can also be used to enhance the size and shape of the lips. After receiving the Juvederm filler treatment, these areas will notice a noticeable difference.

What to expect after your dermal filler treatment?

Fillers and other noninvasive treatments are popular because they are simple and require little recovery time. Your visit will be over in less than an hour. Patients who undergo dermal filler treatments should avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours after their injections.

The fact that fillers provide results right away is another benefit. Yes, you may immediately notice results following your treatment. You may have some pain during or after the injections, as well as bruising and swelling, depending on the type and location of the filler. If you have bruises following their injections, we encourage patients not to schedule their treatment before a momentous social occasion.

What safety procedures should you take before receiving dermal filler treatment?

To avoid risks like contamination from non-sterilized utensils and to get the best rejuvenation results without adverse side effects, injections should only be administered by licensed medical professionals.

Before having a dermal filler operation, take the required precautions and consult a specialist who has attained board certification. Not only is it safer, but the filler’s effects will also be far more effective. Also, request dermal fillers that have FDA approval.
